North Dakota State University: Ph.D. positions

Ph.D. position in avian physiological ecology. The Heidinger lab is interested recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Ph.D. students to contribute to a collaborative NSF funded study examining the cross-generational consequences of stress exposure on offspring telomere dynamics in house sparrows (Passer domesticus). Ph.D. students could pursue a variety of projects related to this general theme of how variation in stress exposure and responsiveness affect life-history strategies and/or the long-term consequences of early life conditions for senescence.

The Heidinger lab is at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, ND. The student would join a vibrant department with several other researchers with expertise in organismal biology and avian physiological ecology including: Drs. Tim Greives, Wendy Reed, and Page Klug. The position will begin August 2018 and students should enroll in either the Biological Sciences or Environmental and Conservation Sciences graduate program at NDSU. Competitive stipend funding and tuition waivers via teaching and/or research assistantships are available.
