Pancrustacean Workshop to complement Breaking Boundaries for Evolutionary Synthesis: An Interactive, and Integrative Symposium Linking Crustacean and Insect Physiology
Wed, January 7th, 6-8 pm in Room 1E of the Convention Center

Insects and crustaceans represent critical, dominant animal groups (by biomass and species number) in terrestrial and aquatic systems, respectively. Insects and crustaceans are historically grouped under separate taxonomic classes under the Phylum Arthropoda, and the research communities studying insects and crustaceans are quite distinct. This workshop will bring together researchers in insect and crustacean biology to discuss emerging science related to the Pancrustacea. Some of this research was highlighted in the Symposium: Breaking Boundaries for Evolutionary Synthesis: An Interactive, and Integrative Symposium Linking Crustacean and Insect Physiology

We invite anyone interested in the evolutionary relationship of the Pancrustacea to come and discuss phylogeny, physiology, and evolution of these highly successful groups. Light snacks and drinks will be served.
